Doug Fountain is the Principal of Landscape Architecture and is based in Fotenn’s Ottawa office. Doug is a full and registered member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects, the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, l’Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec and the American Society of Landscape Architects. Prior to launching his own practice (F.D. Fountain Inc.) in 2001, Doug worked for several years in both the private and public sectors. Doug’s 25 years of experience in the field is often recognized by interest groups, who have enlisted him to speak on various topics at conferences and meetings.

SOME FACTS ABOUT DOUG…

Favourite city to visit? My answer changes depending on the season in Ottawa, but Vancouver has always been good to me.

Cats or dogs? Nice try…I’ve fallen into this trap before. No comment.

Favourite Architecture/Urban Design/Landscape Architecture Project? Tough question. While Bryant Park in NYC checks all my boxes, I’d have to say that any space, built or natural, that is filled with happy users has my respect.

Hobbies? Skiing, coaching little league, playing guitar sloppily and building stuff (less sloppily)
