Project Spotlight: OBIAA
July 29, 2016
Fotenn is thrilled to act as Project Managers, Brand Creators and Researchers on a province wide study to identify the Return on Investment of Ontario’s Business Improvement Areas. The study kicked off in early 2016, and aims to help quantify the contribution of BIAs in our communities and understand their role in fueling local economies across the Province. Sarah Millar, Manager of Planning and Design in Fotenn’s Toronto office is the Project Lead, working with fellow Fotenn’ers Phil Busby, Nader Kadri and Sarah Button to establish the current state of BIAs in Ontario and a collective set of indicators for the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA) and the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Area (TABIA).
Fotenn’s Michael Stott and Michelle Blom developed a unique logo and creative brand package to reflect the position BIAs hold at the heart of our communities. This unique identifier builds on the previous work of OBIAA and further recognizes their role at the heart of local Heritage, Economic, Arts, Revitalization, and Tourism initiatives. The final report will be submitted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs in March 2017.
Get involved and follow our work. Fotenn and OBIAA would love to hear from you! Follow us on Twitter at #BIAROI or for more information, please see the press release here, and the project page here for regular updates.
