Fotenn Planners Matthew McElligott and Jacob Bolduc presented to the Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment and Consent Authorities (OACA) Annual Conference on June 6 in Ottawa. The pair spoke on the Site Plan Control process and the Committee of Adjustment, focusing on how the two are related. The presentation provided an overview of the typical submission requirements and process, placing emphasis on the processing of concurrent applications for Site Plan Control and applications through the Committee of Adjustment, and exploring some Ontario case studies to identify common issues facing municipalities.

About the OACA

The OACA is a not for profit volunteer association whose mandate is to educate their members and lobby the Provincial Government for changes in Legislation and Regulations to assist in streamlining the Minor Variance and Consent processes, including the reduction of “red tape”. This Province-wide Association provides many opportunities for their members to learn and discuss the application and implementation of existing and proposed legislation.
