Fotenn’s Matt McElligott visits Arviat

Senior Planner Matt McElligott recently returned from Arviat, Nunavut, where he is leading the project to update the Hamlet’s Community Plan. The reviews are intended to ensure that the planning documents reflect the current aspirations of the community with respect to future development, and will provided up-to-date planning tools for the hamlets to assess land applications and development permit applications. A key consideration of the project is also to ensure that sufficient land is available to accommodate growth over the next 20 years. On this trip, Matt led planning workshop with students from John Arnalukjuaq School.

Fotenn is a leader in Northern/Arctic community planning and has provided planning services in regions throughout Canada’s Far North for well over a decade. Currently, Fotenn’s Matt McElligott, Jaime Posen and Sarah Button are working with the communities of Arviat, Igloolik and Kugaarak on updates to their Community Plans.
