Fotenn in Nunavut
September 15, 2016
Fotenn’s Matt McElligott, Jaime Posen and Sarah Button are visiting three communities in Nunavut this September, kicking off the review of community plans and Zoning By-laws for Arviat, Igloolik and Kugaarak. The reviews are intended to ensure that the planning documents reflect the current aspirations of the community with respect to future development, and will provided up-to-date planning tools for the hamlets to assess land applications and development permit applications. A key consideration of the project is also to ensure that sufficient land is available to accommodate growth over the next 20 years.
FOTENN is a leader in Northern/Arctic community planning and has provided planning services in regions throughout Canada’s Far North for well over a decade. Matt and Jaime have made several trips to the north and together with Sarah Button form an experienced team to carry out the contract.
