Fotenn Among the Finalists Chosen for Nepean Point Design Competition

May 25, 2017

On May 25, Fotenn, together with West 8 and Barry Padolsky Associates Inc., were chosen as finalists in the international design competition for the redevelopment of Nepean Point, an historic and picturesque public space, and one of the Capital’s most iconic and spectacular downtown lookouts.

The finalists will now proceed in preparing a Final Design Proposal to be submitted by September 20, 2017. The National Capital Commission (NCC) will host a public exhibition and open house of the finalists’ designs in Ottawa on October 5, 2017.

The redevelopment of Nepean Point is one of 17 milestone projects in the NCC’s Plan for Canada’s Capital, 2017-2067. The new design is to enhance Nepean Point’s stature as a striking physical landmark and lookout, served by better connections to Sussex Drive and Major’s Hill Park, universally accessible pathways, a historical interpretation program, and an improved visual and spatial relationship with the National Gallery of Canada.
